This position will involve the maintenance, repair, assembly, and testing of electrical rotating components and associated assemblies within a technical production environment.

This opportunity would suit individuals with a background in electro-mechanical assembly, coil winding, or hands-on technical manufacturing work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Wind, assemble, and install wire coils for rotors, stators, armatures, and similar components, both manually and with machinery where required.

  • Assemble subcomponents into finished products in accordance with technical drawings, work instructions, and quality standards.

  • Carry out mechanical and electrical testing, including core loss, hi-pot, phase balance, and rotational direction checks.

  • Inspect components and assemblies, identifying and carrying out rework or repairs where necessary.

  • Undertake soldering tasks, including work on small or intricate components.

  • Measure parts and tolerances using precision instruments.

  • Operate hand tools and relevant assembly equipment.

  • Maintain a clean and organised work environment in line with recognised workplace standards.

  • Complete production documentation and record any issues encountered.

  • Perform quality inspections and functional testing on completed units.

  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives where appropriate.

  • Comply with all health and safety policies and PPE requirements.

  • Interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and technical documentation.

  • Provide additional support across departments as required.

Skills & Experience

Essential:

  • Strong electro-mechanical assembly capability.

  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and procedural documentation.

  • Competence in soldering and handling small components.

  • High level of attention to detail and good manual dexterity.

  • Effective communication and teamwork skills.

  • Basic understanding of electrical and mechanical principles.

  • Problem-solving ability and a proactive approach.

  • Basic IT skills.

Desirable:

  • Previous experience within a winding or similar manufacturing environment.

  • Experience assembling small or intricate components.

  • Familiarity with small tooling and workshop equipment.

  • Exposure to continuous improvement methodologies and structured workplace practices.

Additional Requirements

  • Eligibility to obtain BPSS clearance.

  • Ability to provide a minimum three-year employment history.
