Position Overview

We are looking to bring a capable and experienced CNC turning specialist into our production team. The position suits individuals with solid experience working on turning machinery, especially those proficient in working to exact measurements and complex specifications. You'll be engaged in hands-on operation of modern turning equipment, ensuring all parts produced meet our demanding quality and timing targets.


Primary Duties

  • Prepare and run CNC turning machines for the production of detailed components

  • Adjust and monitor machines to maintain accuracy throughout the production run

  • Use technical diagrams and mechanical drawings to guide machining processes

  • Set tools, measure offsets, and make minor program changes directly at the machine

  • Inspect initial pieces and monitor quality during production using tools like micrometers, gauges, and CMMs

  • Smooth, clean, and finish parts post-machining

  • Ensure compliance with tight dimensional and surface quality criteria

  • Prioritise efficiency while maintaining strict quality control

  • Support related tasks such as light assembly when needed

  • Keep the work environment tidy and operate in line with safety protocols and good housekeeping (5S)

  • Take part in activities aimed at improving workflow, reducing waste, and enhancing output

  • Help onboard and coach newer team members or trainees when appropriate


Desired Background

  • Formal training or a recognised apprenticeship in mechanical engineering or machining

  • At least 10 years of hands-on experience in CNC turning

  • Comfortable with a variety of control platforms such as Fanuc, Mazatrol, Okuma, or Siemens

  • Deep understanding of cutting mechanics, tool selection, and material behaviour

  • Confident in working from technical drawings, including tolerances and geometrical dimensions

  • Independent, detail-oriented, and quality-driven work approach

  • Can identify and raise any concerns regarding materials or documentation promptly

  • Embraces lean thinking and consistent improvement efforts

  • Dependable team player with a strong awareness of workplace safety
