We are recruiting for an experienced Civil Engineering Manager to take a senior leadership position within a growing Power & Renewables business.
This is a role for a civil engineering professional who wants to influence more than individual projects.
You'll provide technical leadership across a portfolio of energy and infrastructure projects, shaping civil engineering strategy from tender and pre-construction through design, construction and final handover.
The Role
You'll be responsible for:
- Leading civil engineering activities across the Power & Renewables portfolio
- Developing civil engineering standards, processes and best practice
- Leading and developing civil engineering teams
- Providing technical oversight across multiple projects
- Leading civil input into tenders and bids
- Developing preliminary designs and engineering solutions
- Overseeing earthworks, drainage, access roads, foundations and structures
- Managing design consultants and engineering partners
- Coordinating civil design with electrical and other disciplines
- Identifying ground, flooding, utilities and environmental risks
- Supporting project programmes and delivery strategies
- Providing technical leadership throughout construction
- Supporting site teams with complex engineering issues
- Driving value engineering and design optimisation
- Managing technical and commercial risks
- Acting as a senior technical interface with clients and contractors
- Overseeing as-built documentation and project close-out
- Driving lessons learned and continuous improvement
We're Looking For
You'll ideally have:
- Degree or equivalent in Civil Engineering
- Significant civil engineering experience
- Senior engineering or engineering management experience
- Background in infrastructure, utilities, energy or Power & Renewables
- Experience leading and developing engineering teams
- Strong design management experience
- Experience across the full project lifecycle
- Strong knowledge of earthworks, drainage, roads, foundations and infrastructure
- Excellent commercial and risk awareness
- Strong client and stakeholder management skills
- Excellent technical problem-solving and leadership capabilities
Experience across BESS, solar, wind, substations, grid connections, power transmission/distribution or utilities would be highly advantageous.
