We are recruiting for an experienced Assembly Technician to join a specialist engineering and manufacturing team supporting advanced technology programmes.

Working within a high-precision environment, you will be responsible for the assembly, integration and testing of complex mechanical systems and sub-assemblies, helping to transform engineering concepts into functional hardware.

This is an excellent opportunity for candidates from aerospace, defence, satellite, medical device or other advanced manufacturing environments who enjoy working on complex, low-volume, high-quality products.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assemble and integrate precision mechanical components and sub-assemblies

  • Interpret engineering drawings, specifications and technical documentation

  • Conduct basic functional testing and inspections

  • Use precision measurement equipment to verify tolerances and quality standards

  • Work with a variety of materials, fastening methods and assembly processes

  • Identify build issues and support problem-solving activities

  • Maintain accurate manufacturing records and documentation

  • Support continuous improvement and Lean manufacturing initiatives

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Minimum 2 years' experience within a precision assembly or manufacturing environment

  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications

  • Experience using precision measuring equipment including calipers, micrometers and gauges

  • Experience working to tight tolerances and quality standards

  • Strong attention to detail and methodical approach to work

  • Good communication and problem-solving skills

Desirable Experience

  • Aerospace, defence, satellite, medical device or advanced manufacturing background

  • Experience working within engineering development or prototype environments

  • Knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles

  • Experience supporting low-volume, high-complexity builds

Security Requirements

Due to the nature of the projects and the controlled environment in which this role operates, applicants must be sole UK nationals and be eligible to obtain and maintain Security Clearance (SC).

Candidates who already hold active SC clearance are particularly encouraged to apply.
