Key Responsibilities:

  • Budgeting, reporting, and cost management, including developing Bills of Quantities (BOQs) and profit plans.
  • Conduct and manage interim commercial meetings with the client and internal project team, providing detailed reports to the Project Manager on the commercial status of the project.
  • Oversee subcontractor accounts, interim valuations, and final accounts, ensuring payment certificates are processed and payments made per agreed sub-contract terms, including applicable retentions.
  • Administer contract obligations and meet additional client requirements. Issue interim and final accounts, progress applications, and ensure accurate remeasurement, site changes, dayworks, and relevant contract claims.
  • Identify commercial risks and report them promptly to senior management, following their direction in undertaking duties.
  • Collaborate closely with the Planning Engineer to ensure progress reporting is accurate and aligned with scheduling and commercial implications.
  • Cost and agree on daily work changes, including subcontractor remeasurement of contract works, site dayworks, and change orders.
  • Maintain meticulous records and provide detailed backup for commercial tracking and costing.
  • Work independently with strong prioritisation skills, ensuring speed and accuracy of financial and commercial information.
  • Negotiate with clients or their representatives when required.
  • Set an example through enthusiasm, professionalism, and strong work ethics.


Qualifications

  • Minimum 5+ years of Quantity surveying experience essential on Electrical Projects.
  • 3rd level qualification in Construction Economics / Quantity Surveying ideally coupled with a technical background as either Electrician or Electrical Engineer
  • Experience working on electrical value projects in-excess of €5million within the data centre, pharmaceutical, industrial or commercial sectors.
  • Proficient in excel.
  • Detailed knowledge of commercial management and QS Role within construction
  • Knowledge of contract conditions and their applications
  • Overall understanding of the business, client and Sub Contractor relations, and installations
  • Excellent Communication/Interpersonal Skills
  • Excellent Record Keeping and Administration Skills
  • Process driven and focused on EHS and Quality Work Management Systems and Processes
