This role offers an exciting opportunity to be part of a dynamic and growing aerospace engineering company, supporting production and quality assurance by inspecting high-precision aerospace components.
You will inspect parts processed through the Inspection department, working closely with production and quality engineering teams to ensure timely and effective part verification.
Key Responsibilities:
Inspect parts per company policies, procedures, engineering drawings, and inspection control plans.
Use a range of inspection tools including:
Calipers, micrometers
OGP, CMM (Aberlink Software)
Keyence Optical Measuring Machines
Hardness testing equipment
Perform manual inspection confidently.
Raise quarantine documentation when required.
Support Quality Engineers and the Production Incident Team with product disposition.
Contribute to Quality Clinic activities as needed.
Use ERP systems like Jobshop and data collection tools such as Visual FAI.
Collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Operations to resolve quality barriers.
Apply best practice inspection methods.
Understand and work within ISO9001 / AS9100 quality systems.
Interpret Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
Maximise effectiveness of inspection resources.
Experience & Qualifications:
Minimum 1 year experience in aerospace inspection (essential).
Background in a manufacturing environment.
Recognised apprenticeship or Level 3 qualification in inspection.
Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).
Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
Familiarity with inspection techniques and Quality procedures.
Experience with Computerised Measurement Solutions (CMS) is desirable.
Skilled in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and GD&T.
Ability to independently set up and operate inspection equipment.
Flexible, proactive, and able to work under pressure.
Willing to work weekends/unsociable hours to meet customer demands.
