Key Responsibilities
- Supporting the preparation of feasibility studies and drafting procurement strategies tailored to data centre developments
- Providing estimating and cost planning services, including the preparation and delivery of detailed cost plans to both internal teams and external clients
- Leading the tendering and procurement process, including managing supplier pre-qualification and evaluation stages
- Managing post-contract cost changes and administering structured change control processes across data centre projects
- Taking full responsibility for cost verification and valuation activities on large-scale programmes, ensuring timely and accurate reporting
- Producing monthly post-contract cost reports and presenting key financial insights to clients
- Contributing to value engineering initiatives to enhance efficiency and control costs without compromising technical or operational requirements
- Leading the negotiation and agreement of final accounts with contractors and suppliers
- Collaborating closely with clients, project managers, and technical consultants through all phases of data centre construction
- Where appropriate, managing and mentoring a cost management team to ensure consistent delivery across all project responsibilities
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Engineering, Construction Management, or a closely related discipline
- Proven experience in delivering high-quality cost management or quantity surveying services throughout all phases of project delivery
- Background in managing MEP (Mechanical, Electrical & Public Health) packages within complex technical environments, particularly data centre builds
- Track record of leading cost management workstreams on large-scale, high-value construction projects
- Strong understanding of technical aspects of the construction industry
- Proficiency in English is essential; a minimum of B1 level German is required, along with a willingness to further develop German language skills
- Excellent communication abilities, with confidence in written, verbal, and presentation settings
- Highly organised, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and work effectively within a team
- Competent in Microsoft Office applications
- Familiarity with cost databases and/or estimating software is a plus
