Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the delivery of mechanical systems during the shell & core phase of a new-build life sciences facility.
  • Oversee mechanical works across HVAC, CHW, LTHW, plantroom installation, and associated infrastructure.
  • Coordinate with subcontractors and internal site teams to ensure installation is executed to programme, safety standards, and technical compliance requirements.
  • Work closely with the design and engineering teams to address technical queries and ensure mechanical systems are built in line with design intent and regulatory standards.
  • Report directly to the Project Manager, providing regular progress updates, highlighting risks, and contributing to project planning and coordination activities.
  • Attend and contribute to weekly progress, coordination, and subcontractor meetings.
  • Ensure that mechanical works are delivered to the highest quality and safety standards, and in accordance with project documentation and specifications.
  • Support pre-commissioning and handover preparation for mechanical systems.


Qualification

  • Degree-qualified in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services, or a related discipline; alternatively, a strong trade background with proven supervisory experience.
  • 7+ years of mechanical construction experience on large-scale industrial or life sciences projects.
  • Solid understanding of HVAC and mechanical infrastructure delivery in controlled or regulated environments.
  • Proven ability to manage subcontractors, monitor progress, and coordinate mechanical works to meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong technical understanding of mechanical systems relevant to shell & core delivery.
  • Familiarity with construction documentation, quality assurance procedures, and commissioning interface requirements.
  • Excellent communication and coordination skills; able to work effectively in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary project team.
