Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in managing the commercial and contractual aspects of mechanical and electrical packages on the data centre project
- Prepare and maintain accurate cost estimates, budgets, and forecasts for M&E works
- Conduct measurement and valuation of works, including progress assessments and subcontractor applications
- Support procurement activities, including subcontractor and supplier negotiations
- Monitor and report on cost variations, ensuring financial control of M&E elements within the project
- Assist in the preparation and agreement of interim and final accounts
- Work closely with the project team to ensure cost efficiency's and compliance with contract terms
- Maintain strong relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, and client representatives
- Contribute to the identification and mitigation of commercial risks
- Ensure timely submission of claims, variations, and commercial reports
- Support the senior quantity surveyor and commercial team with cost reporting and financial analysis
- Maintain detailed records of contractual and financial documentation
Qualifications:
- Degree in quantity surveying, construction economics, or a related field
- Minimum three years of relevant experience in M&E quantity surveying, preferably in data centre or similar large-scale construction projects
- Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical systems within a construction environment
- Proficiency in cost management software and Excel
- Knowledge of contract conditions and procurement processes
- Ability to interpret and manage contracts, particularly NEC or FIDIC agreements
- Strong communication and negotiation skills for liaising with stakeholders
- Detail-oriented approach with excellent record-keeping and financial reporting abilities
- Willingness to travel and work on projects across Europe
