Job Title: Ground Support Equipment (GSE) Mechanic
Location: Tarragona, Spain
Job Type: Permanent
Working Hours: 38 hours/week contract (typically 40 hours/week) - Overtime available with required airport security clearance
Salary: Approx. €3,300 net/month (flexible depending on experience)

Overview:

We are supporting a well-established international provider of Ground Support Equipment (GSE) in their search for experienced Mechanics to join their expanding operations in Tarragona, Spain.

This is a fantastic opportunity for skilled professionals from heavy vehicle, truck, or plant maintenance backgrounds to transition into the aviation sector and work with cutting-edge equipment supporting airside operations.

The Role:

As a GSE Mechanic, you will be responsible for the maintenance, servicing, and repair of a wide range of ground support vehicles and equipment, including both diesel-powered and electric machinery used at airports.

Key Responsibilities:

• Carry out routine inspections and servicing of GSE such as:

  • Baggage loaders, stair trucks, tow tractors

  • Electric buses and other mobile airport vehicles

• Diagnose and repair faults across mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems

• Interpret technical manuals and electrical schematics

• Attend to breakdowns and perform unscheduled repairs

• Ensure all work meets safety, compliance, and operational standards

• Maintain detailed service records and escalate any issues as needed

Ideal Candidate:

• Background in HGV, plant, bus, or truck maintenance

• Strong mechanical and hydraulic repair skills

• Ability to read and interpret electrical diagrams and technical documents

• Previous experience with airport GSE is an advantage, but not required

• Comfortable working in a high-paced airport or industrial environment

• Willing to work flexible hours, including occasional overtime

Requirements:

• Technical training or formal qualifications in mechanical or automotive engineering

• Full EU driver's licence

• Must hold an EU passport or have full EU working rights

• Able to obtain airport security clearance

• Immediate availability preferred
