Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the Electrical Systems package on a major construction project
  • Lead a team of engineers and supervisors, coordinating with other disciplines to prevent delays and ensure alignment with project milestones
  • Manage site safety in collaboration with the Project Manager and Safety Advisor, including setup and close-out of safety files
  • Foster a strong culture of Health, Safety, Quality, and Environmental awareness across the team
  • Set up, manage, and close out the site Quality Assurance file in line with company and project standards
  • Support delivery of the overall project schedule, working closely with the Project Manager, Client, and Consulting Engineers
  • Control and report on all cost elements related to the electrical package, including:
    • Direct labour team
    • Subcontractor performance and costs
    • Plant, materials, and equipment
    • Variations and valuations
  • Oversee daily site operations and ensure adherence to all relevant company policies and procedures
  • Manage subcontractor activity, tracking progress, resources, and holding weekly minuted coordination meetings
  • Maintain and monitor the "In Progress" snagging system and ensure supervisors provide updated punch lists weekly
  • Record and submit labour hours for both internal and subcontractor teams for central tracking
  • Attend and contribute to internal and external meetings including engineering, planning, coordination, and handover sessions
  • Support project close-out, including completion of the Final Account, O&M Manuals, QA documentation, Safety File, punch list resolution, and demobilisation of plant and materials
  • Issue weekly cost and progress reports, including materials on order, site labour levels, WBS-based completion tracking, and any identified risks or delays
  • Ensure all internal and external KPIs are achieved and reported
  • Prepare external progress updates identifying unavailable areas, third-party delays, and percentage of works complete
  • Schedule and track all material deliveries in line with the programme
  • Maintain a photographic diary documenting site progress weekly
  • Carry out any other duties aligned with the role's scope and responsibilities


Qualification

  • A recognised trade qualification and/or relevant third-level degree
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in Project Management of large-scale installations
  • Proven track record in leading and coordinating complex electrical projects
  • Strong understanding of industrial relations and workforce management
  • In-depth knowledge of Health & Safety regulations and site compliance
  • Experience in design-and-build project environments
  • Solid technical knowledge of both electrical and mechanical systems
  • Proficient in IT systems and project management tools
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to perform under pressure and meet strict deadlines
  • Demonstrated capability to manage and deliver major construction projects
