Mane is currently seeking an experienced and proactive Environmental Health and Safety Advisor to support a major Data Centre project based in London Docklands.
This role is ideal for an individual who is passionate about health, safety, and environmental compliance, and is looking to influence a positive safety culture on a complex, high-value project.

Purpose of the Role


The Environmental Health & Safety Advisor is responsible for implementing, supporting, and continuously improving health, safety, and environmental strategies on-site. The role ensures project operations remain compliant with legislation while promoting a proactive and safe working culture.


Key Responsibilities


  • Support the development and implementation of the site-specific Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) Management System in alignment with legal obligations and industry best practice.

  • Collaborate with the project team to plan and monitor risk assessments and method statements (RAMS) for all work activities.

  • Conduct regular site audits and inspections, track performance indices, and ensure all non-conformances are addressed and closed out.

  • Lead the promotion of a strong EHS culture by engaging with all levels of the workforce and encouraging safe working behaviours.

  • Provide EHS guidance, training, and toolbox talks to all employees and subcontractors.

  • Support incident and accident investigations, producing reports, ensuring root cause analysis, and tracking corrective actions.

  • Liaise with external bodies such as enforcement authorities and client representatives when required.

  • Participate in start-up and planning meetings, contributing to safety planning from the earliest stage.

  • Ensure all statutory requirements and project-specific policies are strictly followed and implemented on site.

  • Assist in the preparation and submission of accreditation documentation where needed.

  • Identify training needs and deliver or coordinate relevant sessions to support a safe working environment.

Candidate Requirements


  • A third-level qualification in Environmental Health & Safety or a closely related field.

  • Minimum of 3 years' experience on large-scale construction or commercial projects (experience in data centres is advantageous).

  • Strong knowledge of UK health and safety legislation and industry standards.

  • Organised and detail-oriented with excellent problem-solving capabilities.

  • Self-motivated with the ability to influence and build effective relationships across multidisciplinary teams.

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • Full, clean driving licence (preferred).
