Control Systems: Expanding success from the shop floor

Project brief

The Coventry-based firm specialises in the electrical engineering, design, distribution and installation of control systems. At the beginning of 2018, the company was recommended to Mane by a contractor working there.  The firm had historically struggled to recruit control panel wireman for its Coventry site. The availability of these skills in the area was scarce and consequently the firm put the contract out to tender.

Following a competitive pitch process, Mane successfully demonstrated its track record in the industry and wide talent communities and was consequently awarded the contract to supply an initial two roles.  The recruitment company adopted a multi-faceted sourcing campaign – not least actively headhunting people that were in similar positions. While several candidates were identified, enticing them to leave another positions was not without its challenges. However by demonstrating the benefits – including the scope for long term projects at the business as well as the opportunity to upskill relatively quickly – Mane successfully filled both positons.

On the back of this accomplishment, Mane has expanded the account, with over 10 placements now secured and more roles introduced including software and test engineer positions.

As a further result of this success, Mane is now one of only two agencies still working with firm and is confident that it will continue to grow the account over the coming months and years.
