MANE are currently recruiting for Production Welders for our market-leading Manufacturing company based in Dunstable. As a TIG Welder you will be required to manufacture and weld various assemblies to fine tolerances (.5 mm) using recognised trade skills under the supervision of a Team Leader. To produce quality finished components to drawings and routing requirements that meet Aerospace standards.


Core Responsibilities

  • To work to drawing and route cards requirements
  • To obtain and maintain Operator verification approval stamps
  • To work efficiently within agreed standards
  • To assist in introducing new techniques and improved methods of working where possible
  • To be responsible for general housekeeping and tidiness on the shop
  • To bring forward ideas to improve and reduce costs in production where possible
  • To be conversant with all relevant AWPS and operating procedures used on the above job description
  • To be familiar with the Health and Safety and Fire policies for the company and to attend mandatory updates where required
  • Flexible attitude towards work/teamwork



Role Specifications

Experience and Skills:

Required:

  • Ability to read and understand and engineering drawings
  • Ability to read weld data cards and work to the specification
  • Ability to reach given targets and assist others in achieving goals
  • Ability to follow all company procedures and specifications
  • Ability to work to verbal and written instructions
  • Proven ability to work effectively as a team member
  • Ability to operate a welding chamber ( Glove Box)
  • Ability to operate a turntable controlled with a foot pedal
  • Ability to read measuring equipment
  • Experience with Titanium, Inconel & stainless steel


Desirable:

  • Experience working in the aerospace industry
  • Operator verification experience


Education:
Time served apprenticeship or equivalent combination of relevant education and work experience that will allow successful performance of job expectation.


Shift Pattern:


4- day week running Mon-Thurs 3.45pm-1.30am
2-3 months training on 4 day week initially DOE - Mon-Thurs
