The position:
We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join our F1 Mechanical Design group, working on a wide variety of projects.
Collaborating with the Group Principal / Head of Mechanical Design, you will be responsible for undertaking and guiding a range of designs from initial concepts through to prototype production working closely with other Engineering departments.
As a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for:
- Concept design through to detailing of mechanical, hydraulic and composite components and assemblies on a wide variety of systems across the
- Carry out background stress and sizing calculations and produce supporting
- Conduct design reviews independently or with the Principal Engineer / Head of
- Demonstrate significant experience to be drawn on by others and be a point of contact for engineering
- Mentor less experienced engineers within the
- Complete end-to-end ownership for projects incorporating manufacture, build, testing and racing, including fault analysis and resolution requiring close collaboration with the wider
- Support checking of detailed drawings, including design review against specification and previous designs and competitor analysis.
- Drive continuous improvement and promote autonomous
Our ideal candidate is someone who has:
- An in-depth understanding of fundamental engineering principles and previous experience within a similar role within
- A relevant degree or equivalent qualification supported by design experience in motorsport, aerospace or a related
- The ability to manage a diverse workload and prioritise work to varying
- Strong CAD skills, ideally with experience of Siemens NX, however training will be provided for conversion from other CAD
- Experience with simulation modelling and basic stress
- Data analysis experience would also be
