Senior Motor Controls Technologist

Location: Hertfordshire or Bristol

Salary: Negotiable DOE

The Opportunity

We have an exceptional opportunity for a Senior Motor Controls Technologist to enhance the technical excellence of our project deliveries. This role involves providing leadership to the Motor Controls team, including coaching and mentoring team members.

You will also take responsibility for offering support and guidance on complex issues across all projects. Additionally, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future strategy for Motor Control aspects in the design and delivery of Actuation Systems.

What We're Looking For:

We seek a Motor Controls expert capable of operating at a senior level within our organization, demonstrating passion and determination to excel. You should possess strategic-level experience and excel in coaching and guiding teams, with strong influencing and communication skills essential for networking across internal and external design communities.

From a technical standpoint, we require:

  • Experience in designing and developing control algorithms for digital control systems.
  • Proficiency in using the MATLAB/Simulink toolset and Embedded Coder to generate deployable control algorithms, ideally with direct experience in BLDC motor control.
  • Ability to model complex electronic and mechanical systems, including feedback sensors, motors, drivetrains, and drive electronics.
  • Capability to derive sub-system or component requirements from customer specifications to support system architecture development.
