The Position We are looking for a driven Aerodynamics Project Leader to work closely with Principal Aerodynamicists and lead a team of talented aerodynamicists. This role focuses on developing and empowering team members to create innovative aerodynamic solutions for a select area of the car.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work towards clear aerodynamic objectives, maximizing the group's learning through effective use of CFD and experimental data.
  • Enhance the department's aerodynamic understanding through thorough analysis and communication of CFD and experimental data.
  • Develop and empower less-experienced members of the group.
  • Prepare, plan, and execute successful wind tunnel test sessions.
  • Create clear reporting of results and theories that encourages challenge and sharing of ideas.
  • Maintain awareness and understanding of the aero package within the group's area of responsibility with a proactive attitude towards continual improvements and technical innovations.
  • Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement in all aspects of our work.
  • Maintain positive relationships and clear communication of information throughout the department and across the team.

Ideal Candidate Qualifications

  • Multiple years of experience in F1 aerodynamic development.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to communicate across functions and departments.
  • Strong influential ability to gain buy-in and drive collaboration across departments.
  • Demonstrable ability to develop less-experienced members of the group.
  • Strong understanding of the fundamentals of aerodynamics.
  • Familiarity with CFD techniques, including non-standard models.
  • Proficiency in CAD for the design of aerodynamic surfaces; experience with Siemens NX is useful.
