Job Title: Wiring and Assembly Technician

Location: Tewkesbury, Gloucestershire
Hours: 38-40 hours per week, Monday to Friday

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Wiring and Assembly Technician to carry out a variety of wiring and assembly tasks in a dynamic and collaborative environment. You will contribute to the production of high-quality electronic and electro-mechanical products, ensuring all work meets rigorous standards.

Please note: Successful candidates may be required to complete their training at the Reddich site prior to the opening of the Tewkesbury site.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform control panel wiring, including panel fitting, marking out, drilling, and tapping.
  • Conduct point-to-point wiring, cable crimping, loom, and harness wiring using appropriate tools.
  • Install electronic and electro-mechanical components and looms to meet quality requirements.
  • Solder connectors (e.g., D-Type, Amphenol) to IPC/WHMA-A-620 standards.
  • Assemble and wire equipment following engineering drawings and instructions.
  • Inspect, test, and troubleshoot wiring and sub-assemblies using test equipment and schematics.
  • Report design or material issues and support continuous improvement efforts.
  • Adhere to company policies, wiring standards, and safety protocols.

Key Competencies

  • Proven experience with connectors, cables, and components (industrial or military).
  • Proficiency in wiring, assembly, soldering, and using hand tools.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
  • Knowledge of wiring standards (e.g., IPC/WHMA-A-620) and electrical safety practices.

Useful Additional Experience (Advantageous)

  • Experience working to IPC/WHMA-A-620 standards.
  • Familiarity with industrial and military wiring systems.
  • Knowledge of advanced soldering techniques and troubleshooting practices.
