Team Lead - RF Design

A fabulous opportunity to join a key defence engineering organisation is seeking a Team Lead for its RF and Antenna design team. This role requires both strong technical expertise in RF design and the ability to provide day-to-day leadership to a high-performing engineering group. You will help deliver some of the most technically involved projects in the UK defence sector.

You will work within the Electronic Engineering function, supporting RF and antenna design activities and leading work packages. The role involves guiding both technical direction and team performance, working closely with other team leads, group leads and technical specialists. There are strong career pathways available in both technical leadership and people management.
What we're looking for:

• Proven experience leading and delivering complex RF design packages
• Strong people leadership skills and the ability to motivate high-performing teams
• Practical RF design experience across a wide frequency range (around 30 MHz to 30 GHz), including LNAs, high-power amplifiers, filters, oscillators, synthesisers and modulators
• Good understanding of digital, analogue and power supply design
• Experience using RF and antenna design tools such as Microwave Office and HFSS
• Strong understanding of radio transceiver system architecture
• Familiarity with manufacturing techniques, design for manufacture and design for test
• Experience in project management and planning (Excel, P6 or MS Project beneficial)
• Ability to collaborate effectively across a multi-disciplinary organisation
