Job Title: Senior Sales Manager for Renewables, Offshore Wind Service
Our client is an internationally operating engineering services company with over 2,500 employees worldwide. Our client specializes in the design and construction of offshore grid connection systems as well as subsequent service, with headquarters in Esbjerg, Denmark. Office locations in Germany are in Hamburg, Bremen or Emden. With over 40 years of experience in the global offshore energy sector, our client's Renewables Division strives to offer tailored service concepts for all assets in the offshore wind sector as a full-service provider.
To strengthen our client's young and motivated team, they are looking for a Senior Sales Manager full-time, to start as soon as possible.
As a Senior Sales Manager, you are responsible for the entire sales process, including planning, coordinating, executing, and ensuring the quality-of-service offerings and tenders in the Renewables Division for the Offshore Wind Service sector. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in stakeholder management, including regulatory authorities, investors, contractors, and grid operators. Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Taking responsibility for complex proposal and tender processes for national and international projects from lead generation to contract closure and handover to the project team.
- Acting as an internal and external point of contact throughout the sales process concerning all price- and contract-related technical and commercial aspects.
- Having detailed knowledge of our client's entire product portfolio to find cross-functional solutions and identify upselling potentials.
- Ensuring customer requirements are understood and integrated into the development of successful sales strategies and service concepts.
- Collaborating with external and internal stakeholders in bid preparation, customer meetings, contract negotiations, and closure.
- Supporting and ensuring quality in the creation and compilation of bid documents.
- Building and maintaining external relationships with customers and other stakeholders in the offshore wind industry, particularly through participation and representation of our client at trade fairs.
- Continuously improving business processes, commercial concepts, and sales documents.
- Communicating and closely collaborating with, as well as representing, the Sales Director and all stakeholders in the tender process (Junior Sales Manager, Bid Manager, Project Manager).
- Taking ownership of complex, strategic, commercial, and legal challenges, e.g., through close coordination with our legal department.
- Standardizing marketing and quality requirements with flexible adaptation to market conditions.
What our client is looking for:
Ideal candidate will be someone who can take on challenges and find solutions, but above all, are a team player with excellent communication skills and negotiation talent.
- A completed degree in a relevant field (M.Sc. / Dipl. Ing. / B.Sc. in Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or another technical field) or a comparable qualification. Commercial and legal expertise, as well as specific multi-year experience, are advantageous.
- 5 years of professional experience with sales processes and proven success in contract negotiations in at least one area of the wind industry, preferably offshore wind or grid and transmission technology.
- A proactive, open-minded nature combined with an affinity for renewable energies and the corresponding market environment.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to understand complex information and translate it into compelling proposals both visually and in writing.
- Negotiation skills and the ability to influence and build networks effectively, as well as to establish trusting and long-term relationships with customers.
- Capability to translate project requirements into contractual language and to summarize relevant content for decision-making for different stakeholders.
- Fluent German and English skills, both spoken and written.
- Travel requirements approximately 10%
