FMCG Factory Supervisor - Fabrication & Stainless Steel Welding

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Supervisor to join our FMCG manufacturing facility. The successful candidate will oversee fabrication, welding, maintenance, and installation activities within a fast-paced production environment. This is a hands-on supervisory role requiring strong technical expertise in stainless steel fabrication and hygienic welding standards commonly used in food manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise fabrication, welding, and maintenance activities across the factory.
• Lead and coordinate a team of fabricators, welders, and maintenance personnel.
• Manufacture, modify, install, and repair production equipment, pipework, conveyors, platforms, and associated plant infrastructure.
• Perform and oversee TIG welding on stainless steel components to a high hygienic standard.
• Ensure all fabrication work complies with food safety, hygiene, and quality requirements.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, and fabrication plans.
• Plan work schedules and allocate resources to minimise production downtime.
• Conduct quality inspections of completed fabrication and welding work.
• Maintain compliance with Health & Safety regulations and company procedures.
• Support continuous improvement projects and equipment upgrades.

Essential Requirements

• Proven experience in a supervisory role within an FMCG, food manufacturing, beverage, dairy, pharmaceutical, or similar production environment.
• Qualified and experienced Fabricator/Welder.
• Advanced TIG welding experience.
• Demonstrable experience welding hygienic stainless steel systems and equipment.
• Strong knowledge of food-grade stainless steel fabrication techniques.
• Ability to fabricate from engineering drawings with minimal supervision.
• Experience working on pipework, tanks, vessels, conveyors, and production equipment.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong understanding of health, safety, and quality standards within manufacturing environments.

Preferred Qualifications

• Relevant Welding and Fabrication qualifications or trade certification.
• Experience with hygienic pipework installations and orbital welding (desirable).
• Knowledge of FMCG production processes.
• Mechanical maintenance experience.
• Food Safety or HACCP awareness.
