About the Role:
- You will be responsible for ensuring Export Control compliance within the UK under relevant export control regimes by providing timely export license services, conducting internal audits, and hosting external audits.
- This role offers the opportunity to collaborate closely with International Trade and Compliance teams across various countries, coordinating activities and aligning approaches.
- You will need to build relationships with multiple stakeholders, both internal and external, including government bodies such as ECJU and the Ministry of Defence, as well as partner companies like BAE Systems.
- You will be accountable for overseeing the Export Control Service in the UK, ensuring compliance while supporting organizational objectives, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring they are up to date.
- The role includes negotiating amendments to existing Export Control contracts where necessary, removing liabilities, and closing agreements.
- Additionally, you will gather knowledge, best practices, and lessons learned to ensure the organisation is equipped with the appropriate processes, tools, and records to effectively manage Export Control activities.
- As the leader of the UK Export Control Team, you will have functional management and development responsibilities.
What we are looking for:
- Extensive experience in Export Control and Compliance.
- Strong commercial and cultural understanding of the implications of operating across various export domains.
- Proven leadership and influencing skills, with the ability to lead teams and drive change.
- Strong ability to build effective working relationships with Directors and Business Managers.
- Experience in fostering positive engagement with partners, suppliers, and customers.
- Expertise in export licensing services and compliance with regulations, including conducting internal audits and hosting external audits.
- Solid understanding of legal implications and regulations related to export control.
- Ability to provide vision and leadership to the UK Export Control Team while supporting broader organisational commitments.
