B1.3 Licensed Engineer

The B1.3 Licensed Engineer is responsible for the certification of line, non-routine maintenance, and repair on specific rotorcraft models. Type training will be provided for a suitable candidate.

The main responsibilities of the post holder will include:

  • Carrying out maintenance inspections and repairs as directed by the nominated LAE Supervisor.
  • Leading a team and maintaining high standards to ensure the continued safe operation of the aircraft.
  • Completing maintenance tasks, including airframe structure, power plant, mechanical, and electrical systems.
  • Replacing avionic line-replaceable units and conducting simple tests to ensure their serviceability.
  • Supervising mechanical fitters and certifying their work.
  • Performing off-aircraft mechanical, power plant, component, and composite technical work in workshops as required.
  • Assisting in the day-to-day running of the aircraft hangar, including aircraft movement and general housekeeping responsibilities.

The ideal candidate will possess the following knowledge and skills:

ESSENTIAL

  • Thorough knowledge of engine and airframe systems.
  • Familiarity with specialized test equipment related to engine and airframe systems.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of:
  • CAA regulations, particularly Pt 145, Part M, and UK ANOs
  • Continued Airworthiness Management (CAM)
