System Controls Engineer

Your Position

As a Systems Controls Engineer in our Systems Engineering division, you'll join a dedicated team working on projects and providing service support for clients in the Oil & Gas and offshore wind sectors.

Your Responsibilities

• Interpret customer requirements to develop design solutions
• Produce specifications, project documentation, and technical reports
• Assume technical responsibility for allocated tasks and actively contribute to design reviews
• Conduct testing and commissioning of systems to ensure compliance with standards and specifications
• Perform fault finding and troubleshooting on PLC systems
• Participate in the Systems support team on call rota
• Contribute to the development of the systems engineering team and support business development efforts

Your Qualifications:

• A degree/HND in an appropriate subject or equivalent experience
• Experience in an engineering environment, preferably in the energy sector
• Knowledge of control and safety system applications for Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, and/or renewable industries
• Familiarity with communication protocols such as Modbus, OPC, DH+, Ethernet/IP, Profibus, and ControlNet
• Understanding of Control and Instrumentation principles
• Proficiency in configuring HMI and SCADA packages
• Proven track record in systems engineering
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Willingness to travel nationally, internationally, and offshore as required
