We're seeking an RF Design Engineer with demonstrated hands-on design expertise for advanced defence systems. Your responsibilities will encompass researching, designing, and testing state-of-the-art radio-frequency technology for integration into our sophisticated weapon systems. You'll leverage your practical experience to implement modifications or develop rapid prototypes as needed.

We require a collaborative team member who can take initiative and exhibits a genuine enthusiasm for electronic engineering. This role is ideally suited for someone comfortable with hands-on testing and board modifications, coupled with a robust background in RF design.

We are looking for:

  • Demonstrated hands-on experience in RF (component level) design and testing of RF circuits spanning a broad frequency spectrum (e.g., 30MHz to 30GHz), covering components like LNA Amplifiers, High Power Amplifiers, filters, local oscillators, synthesizers, and modulators.
  • Proven track record in RF design for challenging environments, including considerations for EMC, vibration, and thermal factors.
  • Proficiency in conducting design proving tests and trials within an on site laboratory environment.
  • Exceptional practical skills encompassing soldering, fault finding, and utilisation of RF test equipment such as Spectrum Analysers, Power Meters, and VNAs.
  • Solid understanding of digital, analog, and power supply design principles.
  • Experience utilising RF design tools (e.g., Microwave Office), including layout design.
  • Thorough knowledge of manufacturing techniques and capabilities, with expertise in design for manufacture and test.
  • Effective communicator with strong presentation and report writing skills, capable of clearly articulating any issues, solutions, or findings to both the team and the customer.
