Mechanical Design Engineer

Role Overview:

As a Contract Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and developing components and systems for a confidential project. Working closely with our engineering team, you will utilize your expertise in CATIA V5 to create detailed 3D models and drawings that meet our rigorous performance and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand project requirements and design objectives.
• Create detailed 3D models and assemblies using CATIA V5 software, ensuring accuracy and adherence to design specifications.
• Generate comprehensive engineering drawings and documentation for manufacturing and assembly processes.
• Conduct feasibility studies and design analysis to optimise component performance and reliability.
• Participate in design reviews and provide constructive feedback to improve design concepts.
• Work closely with suppliers and external partners to coordinate the production of prototypes and final components.
• Support testing and validation activities, analyse results, and implement design modifications as necessary.
• Stay updated on emerging technologies and industry trends to drive continuous improvement and innovation.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in mechanical engineering or a related field.
• Proven experience in mechanical design and engineering, preferably within the motorsport or automotive industry.
• Proficiency in CATIA V5 software with a strong understanding of surface modelling and parametric design principles.
• Excellent knowledge of engineering materials, manufacturing processes, and GD&T standards.
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to think creatively and analytically.
• Effective communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Self-motivated and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously with minimal supervision.
• Fluency in English; German language skills would be advantageous.
